Everyone. Here are some common uses:

  • Someone who has lost the deed to a property they would like to sell.
  • Someone who needs to find a land title document on behalf of a family member.
  • A home owner who would like to refinance and needs to verify they do not have a lien against their property.
  • Lawyers researching legal cases.

For Abstract documents, all numbers have eight (8) digits (for example, 43350001).

  • Multi-action documents (i.e. one physical document that performs more than one action, for example, Deed and Release) have a letter after the 8-digit number: 43350002A

For Torrens documents, including Land Court Orders, all numbers have seven (7) digits (7987001)

  • Multi-action documents (i.e. one physical document that performs more than one action, for example, Deed and Release) have a letter after the 7-digit number: 7987002A

For documents created prior to December 15, 2011, document numbers are in one of the following formats:

  • Abstract/Regular: 1997-123456 or 2010123456
  • Torrens/Land Court Order: 1234567
  • Torrens/Land Court Order: 123456
  • Book & Page: 112345123 (A '1' must precede the book and page number, no slashes)

Fee Computed at $1.00 per page for documents in the system.

File Plan Number Assigned by state survey office identifying file plans submitted for approval.
